Our Goal

History of the CHS Media Center

  • In 1932, Myrtle C. Blackmon began the process of developing the first full-sized, full-time library in a public school in the state of Georgia here at Columbus High.

  • After purchasing most of the books with her own money, the library opened in 1937.
