CHS Media Center

Our Purpose
The fundamental purpose of the CHS Media Center is to provide resources and services in a positive environment which will contribute to lifelong learning.

Our Goal
Our goal is that the entire CHS community of faculty, staff, and students find in the Media Center both access to information and inspiration for ideas.

History of the CHS Media Center

  • In 1932, Myrtle C. Blackmon began the process of developing the first full-sized, full-time library in a public school in the state of Georgia here at Columbus High.

  • After purchasing most of the books with her own money, the library opened in 1937.
