Alice-Roxana Barna

Foreign Language

Mrs. Barna is a native of Romania, with a love for foreign languages and music. Her passion for languages began with the study of French as a second grade student. She continued studying French for the next ten years, adding to it Russian, German and Italian. The move to the United States in 2006 to study music solidified her  “TV knowledge” of English. After completing her graduate studies in music, Mrs. Barna returned to CSU where she earned a B.A. in Spanish language and culture. She worked over thirteen years as a collaborative pianist as well as teaching private piano lessons. Since 2015, she has dedicated herself full time to teaching Spanish and she currently teaches Spanish 1 and 2 at Columbus High School.  In her free time, Mrs. Barna loves to play the piano, hike, explore vegan cooking and spend time with family. She is a life long student and she hopes to learn Portuguese in the near future.
